Music

Music is also a great way to engage your child and can be used in many ways to improve speech and language. Music is good for encouraging the child to listen and experience joint attention. You can read books and entertain yourself with music by singing songs while displaying pictures. Songs also focus attention on intonation and stress and have a rhythm to them that helps with these aspects of speech development. These are skills we all use when we speak, and syllable awareness is important when learning to speak. Music can be used to improve language and some songs can be sung along.
