Role model

An important aspect of learning to speak is listening. The child learns new sounds and words by listening to those around him. That's why it's important to provide a good speech model for your child to listen to. Say the words clearly and slowly and use lots of intonation. If your child tries to say a word and doesn't get it right, praise them for their effort. Do not make the child repeat words and do not correct him. You repeat the word exactly as it is said to show that you have understood and to give the child an accurate model of the word. One more important thing – TAKE OUT the pacifier!
